Review: Iron Man
May 2, 2008
Last Wednesday, Comicology, Fritzified and I attended the special screening of Iron Man, courtesy of Solar Entertainment and ETC. Not only did we get in without having to pay a dime, but we also got free shampoo. Thanks for the free shampoo!
So this is a review coming from a casual fan. I made the unfortunate (“jackassy”) decision of moving on to trading basketball cards after already having accrued a two hundred-strong comic book collection, which included a couple of Iron Man titles. We ran a bookstore when I was in elementary and we sold pre-owned comics at 10 pesos a pop. It really is such a waste.
Though I’ve discontinued the hobby, I still am immersed in the various mythologies offered by the comic book universe, especially given the more prominent media through which they are disseminated these days, like in TV or in films. (Seriously, am I the only one clawing at the internet’s innards to find a copy of that Nick Fury TV movie starring David Hasselhoff? And would any self-respecting fan even own Batman & Robin and LXG on DVD? Because I do.)
So, yeah. Casual fan here. With no talent in writing, whatsoever.
Here goes.
